The age old question... does Eye Lash Growth Serum Really Work? Well to answer this question we need to research & analyse the active ingredients contained within Eye Lash Growth Serum.
Majority of Eye Lash Growth Serums currently on the market contain one or even both of the active peptides Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 & Myristoyl Hexapeptide-16. (Cellular Cosmetics Eye Lash Serum contains both peptides). Published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, a clinical study investigated the efficacy of an Eye Lash Growth Serum containing both Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 & Myristoyl Hexapeptide-16 in addition to several other constituents (Sachdev et al., 2020).
The study spanned over 90 days which examined Thirty female participants, aged between 15 to 45 years old. Each participant was instructed to apply the Eye Lash Growth Serum every night to the root of the eye lashes.
The results from the study indicated that improvements of the Eye Lash were observed from 30 days onwards. Among the participants that completed the study, improvements in length (10.52%), volume (9.3%), luster (11.43%), thickness (35%), and curl (50.83%) were present, compared to baseline.
Therefore, in light of this clinical study it can be concluded that Eye Lash Growth Serums containing both Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 & Myristoyl Hexapeptide-16 can effectively promote eye lash growth.
But how do these peptides actually promote the growth of eye lashes? Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 & Myristoyl Hexapeptide-16 are active peptides which stimulate keratin production, which is a key structural protein of hair and essential for growth.
